Kathryn from Snippet & Ink is here today with her favorite fall wedding details!
One of the most wonderful things about the way the world works, is that just when I start to feel ready for a change, a new season comes along! There are so many beautiful details that are unique to fall weddings - this week, in no particular order, are ten of my favorites:
{No. 10} Back-to-School
If you or your partner is a teacher, or maybe if you met in grade school, back-to-school details are too fun to resist. Books, pencils, desks, chalkboards - how about a bake sale style dessert table? Even if you don't want to go all out with a school theme (like this incredible wedding ), you might choose to incorporate a few fun elements.

Middle row: chalkboard menu photo by Elizabeth Messina, report card style invitation suite by Paper+Cup, guest facebook photo by Emilie Inc. Bottom row: pencil and ribbon from Passing Notes, lunch bag and photo via Little White Book, lunch box with toys from Modern Bride
Be sure to leave a comment this week during the {top 10} fall wedding details because we will be drawing one winner at random for a {ritzy bee} and Snippet & Ink inspired fall giveaway...think yummy fall treats, autumn inspired stationary and other little gifts we know you'll love! Contest rules: One comment per email address per post {you can comment twice each day!}. Please be sure to include a valid email address so we can reach you if you win. Winner will be selected and announced Sunday, Sept. 21.

I like the idea of "Back to School" theme since I'm studying to be an elementary school teacher and will be starting to work around the time of our wedding.

I love the "bake sale" idea. What a great way to get your guests involved, too! Grandma's cookies, best friend's rice krispy treats, etc...!

My parents keep jokingly suggesting that we incorporate their school bus into the wedding - but their bus is used to transport animals for the farm! Yikes!

I've seen Minhee and Truman's wedding a few times now, but it never gets old!

I have really been looking for something interesting to use for the guest book and this yearbook style one is so neat. Should I change my whole theme just to use this? Ack?

I just adore Kathryn's work, and since my wedding is in the fall of 2009 I am so excited for these inspiring posts this week! My dad and stepmom had their wedding in a schoolhouse, so that theme has already been covered in my family :-) But I love Kathryn's take on it. Just fab.

I love the guest "yearbook" so much fun!

This is a good way to use the standard yellow school buses for guest transport without them looking out of place :)
Posted by: Michelle | September 16, 2008 at 02:07 PM
I love the idea of grade school pictures.

Thanks for all of the fun comments :)
Amy - I think you can certainly use the yearbook guest book at your wedding regardless of it you have a "back to school" theme or not. Little touches like this are unexpected and so much fun...you certainly don't have to be theme-y to do this!

I love the books wrapped in ribbon!
Posted by: Mollie | September 16, 2008 at 11:32 PM
You could do a 'kid's table' with stuff from school days. Crayons, stickers, Name cards (like you have on your desk the first day of school), stamps. And bonus, at this time of year all the school stuff would be on sale. At target's "one spot" they have all of that kind of stuff for $1.

I love the chalkboards. Great way to have all the signage you might need and yet have it all be reusable.

Including items for a "back to school" theme is such a great idea, and could be easily incorporated into a number of wedding themes! I love it!
