Hooray for the weekend! Kathryn from Snippet & Ink is here today to give us another one of her favorite summer wedding details...picnics!

One of my all-time favorite spreads from any magazine anywhere was the picnic wedding from the Summer 2006 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. Ever since then, I've loved the idea of a picnic wedding, anyway you might choose to do it. You can go fancy, and set up blankets and pillows with centerpieces and baskets of food, or you can go really casual with brown paper lunch bags. Dressed up or dressed down, a picnic wedding is all in the details, and it is quintessentially summer. For more picnic inspiration, check out my picnic inspiration boards.

ace of cakes

Hard to believe we have never blogged about Charm City Cakes since they are right down the road from us in Baltimore! They need little introduction since they sweeten The Food Network weekly with their show Ace of Cakes. We recently had so much fun when one of our couples, Jennifer + Jeremy, had a big surprise at their rehearsal dinner!

Jennifer + Jeremy had each secretly contacted Charm City Cakes to make a cake for the other for the rehearsal dinner {it was also Jennifer's birthday}. When Mary Alice and crew figured it out, they knew it would make for a good Ace of Cakes surprise! Jeremy had a cake of their engagement in Paris created and Jennifer had their dog, Ceaser, made into a cake.

It was complete fun when Jennifer + Jeremy showed up to the dinner and saw two amazing cakes AND the Ace of Cakes crew filming! The show will air sometime in August or September.

We also had to include this amazing & fun Charm City Cakes creation we found via The Blonde Photographer. This groom's cake was an iPhone with all of the apps personalized about the couple...so, so cute!

Parusing the latest issue of Weddings Unveiled Magazine {which is amazing!} we were enamored by this Romona Keveza gown...a strapless silk shantung taffeta with ruffles in ice blue...perfection!!!

We are suckers for details & packaging around here! The amazing and talented Jenn over at 13 Creative comes up with such brilliant designs and we just can NOT get enough of this wedding invitation...

strawberry soiree
