It's almost time to pop the bubbly (although some of you newly-engaged ladies may already have!) and here are a few bubbly-bar details we are loving!
Make a statement (beyond your toast!) with this clever coupe centerpiece from Martha Stewart Weddings.
Sip + repeat! Welcome guests with a glass to go from Martha Stewart Weddings.
We are so thankful for a fantastic 2013...especially to all of our wonderful wedding clients, blog readers, event staff + industry partners! It's become a little end of year tradition to recap our year with photos (courtesy of our trusty iPhones unless otherwise noted) of favorite behind-the-scenes moments + details of our year...
We were off to a very busy start to the year with our biggest wedding of the year taking place just a few days after the new year. Above we were staging the delivery dozens and dozens of guest welcome gift boxes to hotels.
Transforming a bare room (this is the Mellon Auditorium in DC) to a wedding for several hundred in just a few hours...we could not do it without our amazing team of vendor partners!
Final spring and summer event plans took shape this month...with lots of design hours clocked in!
We love this menu wrap Suann at SIMPLESONG design created for a bridal brunch!
Tastings galore took place in April for late Summer and Fall weddings...we can never resist snapping a photo of how beautiful Maggie Austin Cake's tasting presentation looks!
While assisting the First Lady and Dr. Biden at the White House with making mother's day bouquets for military children to give their moms...we got the surprise (as in weak at the knees) of a lifetime when Prince Harry walked in and started helping too!!!
We were grateful to our friends at Washingtonian Bride & Groom magazine (photographed by Abby Jiu) for featuring our lovely couple, Heather + Ryan, on the cover with their wedding featured inside and a fun little article on our involvment planning.
August was a hectic month of prepping and production for lots of September events...love this sandwhich board menu by SIMPLESONG design for a fabulous kid's birthday party!
Weddings, birthday parties, a big picnic and even glamping made September our busiest month yet (and for our super hero florist and decorator Amaryllis Designs) who provided all pieces and floral you see below.
Pretty porch seating for a wedding reception in early September.
Styling an all white magazine editorial feature with gorgeous floral.
Trucks of gorgeous fall floral waiting to be placed.
The perfect stage of "stacked" wood logs for a country setting bluegrass band.
Guests celebrated under the real (and fake) stars...love this tent from Skyline Tent Co.
The perfect party favor for camping (or glamping)!
Another stunning Maggie Austin Cake with ruffles and rosettes.
Dozens and dozens of sketches happened this Fall getting design boards ready for Spring and Summer 2014 weddings!
We ended our year once again volunteering to decorate one of our very favorite DC homes for the holidays. It's always an honor and a thrill...loved seeing Kelly caught in action up on the ladder (in her purple sweater) make this Instagram pic!
We're excited for all 2014 has in store...thanks so much for all of your support friends! xo, m + k
Out of all the holiday weddings...over a decade later this Martha Stewart Weddings feature of Rebecca and Patrick's holiday wedding in Washington, DC remains a very favorite with elegant and timeless details.
Merry Monday! Things are feeling festive around here and we had to share these beautiful photos Kate Headley took on a fun day of holiday prepping. With some delicious cocktails, food and beautiful winter floral by Sidra Forman in the mix too!
Kate made us big fans of a delightful sloe gin and champagne cocktail...not only was it tasty...but it's ruby red color make it a perfect way to keep the spirits bright!
We can't ever seem to stay away from crafting and made these cinnamon ornaments.
They smell so heavenly but also keep forever...and you can use any cookie cutter shape (but Kelly's lab Lucy sure makes a perfect shape)!
We sure feel ready for the week and hope you do too...cheers!
