steph + chris tie the knot

We are excited to feature today's wedding...not only did we work with some of our favorite vendors on this wedding...but this happens to be the wedding of one of my dear friends, Stephanie + Chris. The wedding took place on a beautiful October day and was captured by the spectacular Katie Stoops. The gorgeous flowers were by Janie Medley, the delicious food by RSVP Catering and Human Story Films captured their big day on film.

 

Stephanie + Chris met in high school but parted ways after graduating. Chris enlisted in the Marines and soon after went to Iraq. Stephanie wrote Chris while he was overseas and they dated from afar through his two tours. When he returned Steph moved from DC to L.A. while Chris continued his education in the military.

 

 

 

 

The reception was held at the Barns of Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia where both Stephanie + Chris grew up...

 

 

 

 

 

Chris' one request was for rice krispy treats instead of a wedding cake...

 

Thanks Steph + Chris for letting all of us be a part of your special day...you both looked amazing!

wheat is neat

vintage wednesdays

We love adding just a touch of vintage decor to a tablescape at a wedding! Consider using an assortment of old tins to hold flowers versus the more typical glass squares or cylinders. You instantly get something lovely and unique! Start collecting tins early to find a variety and be sure to have your florist line them with another container since many have rusted spots that will leak.
