A Winter Wedding

"When I was thinking of a post to send over to the lovely Maria for her best of series...this post of a beautiful winter wedding photographed by Calla Evans kept popping into my mind. It surprises me how much I adore this wedding because I'm not usually a fan of cold weather, but I just love the understated elegance of the whole day. Not many women can pull of a gray wedding dress, but Aleksandra looks absolutely flawless in her vintage style ensemble."

"It's so wonderful that purple is being used more frequently.  I love even more that it is being paired with more unusual color combinations.  Instead of bright purples, we are seeing deep aubergine paired with neutral grays and nudes.  A fall wedding done in this combination would be so unique."

the latest buzz

Things have been quite hectic at {ritzy bee} lately...on the road for the past two weeks with two big back-to-back corporate events in different states and a wedding too! Hopefully while we have been gone you have been enjoying the {best of the wedding blogs} series. We will be back next week with regular posts & features..and we can't wait since we miss you all...we of course also can {really} not wait to not be living out of a suitcase!

Posh Girl Vintage is an amazing store with an impressive selection of vintage wedding dresses, I don't know how a bride could pick just one! The fitted waists, flared skirts and sweet feminine details of these dresses would make any bride look picture perfect.

We also love this collage of elements inspired by a sweet wedding dress!

• Choose a cake that's inspired by the detailed fabric of your vintage dress, like this eyelet wedding cake from Martha Stewart.
• Set your tables with an eclectic mixture of vintage patterned china, like the Boho collection from Roseanna.
• Use vintage wallpaper to make DIY place cards, thanks you notes, and gifts for your wedding party, or buy these pretty vintage wallpaper pocket mirrors and notecards from Paperhill Studio's Etsy shop. 
• Choose vintage themed invitations and a matching wedding website, like these from Izzy Girl and Nearlyweds.com.

Melissa + Ryan – This is one of my favorite weddings.  The couple’s story is so touching and the décor here is fabulous!  I love the mix of dark glass, vintage artifacts and lush garden blooms.  It made for a magical setting.

{Susanna + Justin} – I adore this couple.  Gandy Photographers really captured their warmth and youthful spirit in these images.  How fun is her dress?  Some might think it’s a modern look, but t-length gowns were very common in Southern wedding history.  My grandmother wore a beautiful t-length dress just like Susanna’s.  Another fun tidbit:  They had a Kentucky Derby-theme rehearsal dinner the night before and asked guests to wear big beautiful hats.
