We were so excited to be featured in the Spring 2009 issue of Bride & Bloom Magazine in their {featured coordinator} section!
After being given a color palette of soft blues and silver blues it was pretty much anything goes to put a tablescape together and submit. Since we were working with a variety of different vendors, just like with planning a wedding design and vision...we turned to an inspiration board to get everyone on the same page with the look we were going for...and what better place to go then Snippet & Ink! So we selected this board Kathryn had posted awhile back:
Enlisting the help of many wonderful people, like Janie Medley of Janie Medley Flora Design for flowers and floral decor, Holly Hatam at TearDrop Weddings for invitations, Kristine Bender from K. Rose Cakes, Laura Hooper Calligraphy, Maggiano's in Richmond, VA for our photo shoot space, RSVP Catering for our rentals, CoCo Sala for our favors, and Keith Cephus of Keith Cephus Photography ...we were well on our way! Here are some of the shots we ended up with...
It is always so much fun to see what Holly at Teardrop Weddings comes up with for her designs...we love this little sweet invite! Holly is now not only offering letterpress...but she is also offering digital printing...a great way to help those wanting so save a bit on invitation expenses! Be sure to visit Holly's website to check out all of her original work. Thank you Holly for all of your work for this project!
We were absolutely enamored by the cake Kristine from K. Rose Cakes came up with following the color scheme and inspiration board...the soft blue color and sugar flowers were simply exquisite with the little touches of feathers and the bird's {love} nest. Thank you so much Kristine!
Calligraphy from the lovely and super talented Laura Hooper of Laura Hooper Calligraphy. Thanks Laura!
Yum! Thanks to my friend Bharet who owns CoCo Sala an amazing chocolate boutique in DC for the favors...there was even a silver-blue chocolate in the box!
Janie outdid herself on the gorgeous bouquet and boutonniere! Love the white ranunculus and dusty miller with the little blue ribbon...
...and Janie made it all come together with this gorgeous {and budget friendly!} spread of white hydrageas, anemones and baby's breath...oh how we love Janie Medley Flora Design!
...and last but not at all least, thank you SO much to Keith Cephus Photography for spending the day with us and capturing such great pictures! You're the best Keith!
Our wedding setting was designed to reflect a serene, tranquil and intimate gathering. We wanted this wedding vignette to give a feeling of modern, affordable elegance and to incorporate bits of subtle whimsy and unexpected touches to the details of the invitation and cake...and I think we did just that!
{A very special thanks also to Leila Khalil of Be Inspired PR for the opportunity and William Gaff of Humanstory Films for filming our fun day}
What a beautiful color palette. Congratulations on the feature! You deserve it!

Congratulations again, Maria! I got the magazine in the mail this week and your spread really is quite fantastic. You hit the colors right on and the combinations on the table provide fantastic cohesive textures. You go girl!

These are beautiful colour combinations. Much more subtle than the over done tiffany scheme. I love the anemones and the ranaculas and hydrangea combination. Peonies are my favourite too. Congratulations on a great spread.
