The Hitched ladies are back today to share some of the favorite things they saw this week at Bridal Market.
What are the newest trends Hitched saw during the shows?
Hitched: Lace, lace and more lace. Lace is still hot, hot, hot. More straps and sleeves! We’ve been asking our designers for years to design more gowns with sleeves and with a little push from Kate M. across the pond, we saw a big increase in gowns with straps and cap sleeves (lace and otherwise). We also saw a lot of higher necklines that still looked young, fresh and sexy! Loved the use of lace and sheer tulle to create illusion necklines. Peplums continue to be big, but this season they were less exaggerated and more wearable and chic. Sashes and belts are still the ‘must have’ accessory for glamming up a gown for the party or adding a bit of individual personality to the gown for the ceremony. Hitched brides LOVE our selection of belts and sashes.
What is your favorite trend of those three listed?
Hitched: We were head over heels for the sheer tulle illusion necklines at Lela Rose, and the lace bateau necklines at Anna Maier!
Favorite thing about bridal market?
Hitched: It may sound silly, but we really like the suspense! We never know exactly what will walk down the runway, and we love being happily surprised by new, fresh ideas. We also love the opportunity to spend some quality time with our terrific Hitched staff – though it’s a very busy time, we manage to have fun, too!
What were some fun, behind the scene details at Anna Maier?
Hitched: Anna Maier is one the most couture bridal gown design houses in the industry. Each gown is cut made to measure allowing each of their brides to experience a fitting process often reserved for only celebrities. Charles W. Bunstine, III leads the design and production team at Anna Maier. Hitched brides love the special care that they receive when they buy a Anna Maier gown – the muslin process ensures perfect fit. The pictures show the seamstresses using the muslin patterns to create each individual gown
Thank you so much Hitched and Cyn Kain for letting us feature your (fun) work! - m + k

I love the lace bateau necklines. Vintage inspired wedding dresses and the newest trends in wedding dresses are gorgeous and elegant. I love the fact that more and more people are leaning towards times past with lace and pearls. Good read, thanks for writing!

There is something about lace and weddings that you cannot imagine a wedding event without it. There is something traditional yet sexy in using it in wedding gowns, wedding invitations, favors, décor, etc. The good thing about planning for weddings these days is that you can practically get all you need from the Internet. Great looking at different options. Cheers!

The average bride-to-be tries on about dozen dresses before she finds the right one. But that's nothing compared to the number of shoes she slips into and out of before her big day.
